The Pisces Lunar Eclipse & the Great Release: Brigid, the 144 Collective and a New Cycle

The Pisces Lunar Eclipse & the Great Release: Brigid, the 144 Collective and a New Cycle

There are moments when the sky seems to mirror what we are already feeling within ourselves.

For me, this is one of them.

As we move into the Pisces lunar eclipse of 27–28 August 2026, I have felt an extraordinary sense of clearing — almost as though old emotions, patterns and even versions of ourselves are being brought to the surface one last time before we move forward.

Perhaps you have been feeling it too.

Your sleep may be disrupted. Your dreams may be unusually vivid. Memories you thought you had dealt with may suddenly be resurfacing. You may be questioning relationships, routines or situations that once felt perfectly acceptable.

And underneath all of it, there may be a strange feeling that something is changing.

I don't feel that this is simply about endings.

I feel it is about making space.

A Powerful Pisces Lunar Eclipse

Astronomically, this is an extraordinary eclipse.

During the early hours of 28 August in the British Isles, the Earth will move between the Sun and the Full Moon, casting its shadow across almost the entire lunar surface.

At maximum eclipse, approximately 96% of the Moon's disk will be immersed in Earth's deep umbral shadow. From the UK and Channel Islands, maximum eclipse occurs at approximately 5:12 a.m. BST, with the Moon low towards the western horizon.

Although technically a partial lunar eclipse, visually it will come remarkably close to totality.

And astrologically, its symbolism is equally striking.

The Full Moon falls at approximately 5 degrees of Pisces, opposite the Sun in Virgo.

Pisces is the final sign of the zodiac. Astrologically it has long been associated with endings, surrender, intuition, dreams, spirituality, compassion and the dissolving of boundaries.

Virgo, on the opposite side, asks us to discern.

What works?

What doesn't?

What needs healing?

What needs clearing?

What are we carrying simply because we have become accustomed to carrying it?

Together, Virgo and Pisces create a fascinating axis between the practical and the mystical — between what we can analyse and what we can only feel.

And perhaps that is exactly where many of us find ourselves now.

Revelation: Mercury, the Sun and Uranus

There is another important layer to this eclipse.

Mercury meets the Sun in Virgo immediately around this lunation — an astrological phenomenon often called a Mercury cazimi, meaning Mercury is exceptionally close to the heart of the Sun.

In traditional astrological interpretation, this can bring illumination to matters involving thought, information, communication and understanding.

And then there is Uranus.

Uranus in Gemini forms an extremely close T-square with the Virgo–Pisces eclipse axis.

Uranus is traditionally associated with disruption, liberation, awakening and sudden change.

Put these symbols together and we have something fascinating:

Something previously difficult to understand may suddenly become clear.

It might come through a conversation.

A piece of information.

A memory.

A sudden realisation.

A dream.

Or simply an intuitive knowing that arrives seemingly from nowhere.

You may suddenly recognise a pattern that has been repeating for years.

You may understand why something had to end.

You may finally recognise what somebody was trying to teach you.

Or perhaps the revelation is about you.

Sometimes awakening isn't about discovering something new.

Sometimes it is finally being willing to see what was there all along.

The Great Release

This is where my own intuitive feeling around this eclipse becomes particularly strong.

The word I keep receiving is:

Release.

Not punishment.

Not destruction.

Not loss.

Release.

There is a difference.

Sometimes we hold onto people, situations and identities simply because they are familiar.

Even painful things can feel safe when we know what they are.

But eventually there comes a point when the person we are becoming simply cannot comfortably inhabit the life that belonged to the person we used to be.

And I feel many of us are reaching that threshold.

If something is leaving your life now, perhaps the first question doesn't have to be:

How do I get it back?

Perhaps another question is:

Why am I being asked to release this?

And then give yourself enough silence to hear the answer.

The 144,000 and the Twin-Flame Collective

I also feel particularly drawn during this eclipse to the spiritual idea of the 144,000.

The number appears originally in the Book of Revelation, but within contemporary spiritual communities it has taken on many additional interpretations. Some people associate the 144,000 with lightworkers, starseeds, twin flames or souls believed to have incarnated during periods of profound collective transformation.

I don't believe we all need to interpret this literally or in exactly the same way.

But if the 144 collective is something that already resonates deeply with you, this eclipse may feel particularly significant.

What I am intuitively sensing is less about escaping this world and more about becoming fully present within it.

And when I think about twin flames at the moment, I keep returning to the idea of union.

Not simply romantic union with another person.

Inner union.

The masculine and feminine.

Fire and water.

Strength and softness.

Shadow and light.

The earthly self and the soul.

Perhaps one of the deepest purposes of a powerful soul connection is not simply to bring us another person.

Perhaps it is to bring us back to ourselves.

The people who trigger us most deeply can sometimes illuminate the places within ourselves that still need our attention.

And perhaps this current clearing isn't about chasing anything.

It may actually be about stopping.

Surrendering.

Healing.

And allowing whatever is genuinely aligned with us to meet the person we are becoming.

Vivid Dreams, Water and Ancient Memories

My own dreams have become extraordinarily vivid during this period.

And water keeps appearing.

Flowing water.

Oceans.

Places that somehow feel familiar even when I cannot consciously remember having been there.

At the same time, I have felt an almost irresistible pull towards the sea.

I have been swimming as often as I can, and there is something about entering the ocean at the moment that seems to change my entire energy.

When I swim out, away from the noise of everyday life, I feel both incredibly grounded and incredibly open.

Thoughts arrive.

Intuitive impressions arrive.

And sometimes there is simply silence.

I have also felt a beautiful connection with what I can only describe as mermaid energy — ancient, feminine, free and deeply connected to the waters.

It has made me think increasingly about Lemuria and Atlantis.

Stories of Lemuria and Atlantis occupy a fascinating space between ancient philosophy, modern esoteric traditions, mythology and spiritual belief. I cannot tell you that my dreams are memories of either place.

But sometimes that isn't really the point.

If these images arise from some deeper spiritual memory, they are interesting.

If they arise from the subconscious, they are equally interesting.

Either way, something within me is choosing water as its language.

And perhaps something within you is doing the same.

Don't Rush to Interpret Your Dreams

If your dreams are particularly intense at the moment, consider keeping a notebook beside your bed.

Write them down before you pick up your phone.

Don't worry about making sense of them immediately.

Notice instead what repeats.

Water.

Animals.

People from your past.

Unknown places.

Fire.

Houses.

Children.

Journeys.

Numbers.

Colours.

Notice especially how the dream made you feel.

Pisces reminds us that not every message arrives as a sentence.

Sometimes it arrives as an emotion.

And understanding comes later.

Spiritual Expansion Needs Grounding

There is something else I feel very strongly about at the moment.

With so much conversation about eclipses, portals, ascension, twin flames, downloads and higher consciousness, it can be incredibly easy to spend all our time looking upwards.

But we came here with bodies.

We live on Earth.

So perhaps one of the most spiritual things you can do during intense periods is simply to ground.

Go outside.

Feel the wind.

Walk beside water.

Put your hands into the earth.

Sit beneath a tree.

Eat nourishing food.

Rest.

If you feel called to the sea and it is safe for you to swim, enter the water and feel yourself physically held by it.

Let spirituality bring you more deeply into life, rather than taking you away from it.

Cats, Familiars and Our Animal Companions

Animals have also been drawing my attention.

We share our home with cats and dogs, and lately I have found myself particularly aware of the cats — their rhythms, their alertness and simply the way they seem to occupy a space differently from us.

My own sleep has been disrupted, and during one particularly restless night I noticed the cats were awake too.

I can't say that an eclipse was causing their behaviour.

But observing them reminded me how extraordinarily sensitive animals are to their immediate environment — sound, movement, weather, routine and things we humans may simply overlook.

And spiritually, cats have carried powerful symbolism for thousands of years.

There is also the much later folkloric idea of the familiar: an animal companion associated with magical and spiritual practice.

I prefer to think of our animals simply as companions who can help return us to the present.

They don't care about tomorrow's deadline.

They don't need to understand every synchronicity.

They inhabit now.

Perhaps that is part of their medicine.

If you have an animal beside you while reading this, put your phone down for a moment.

Touch them.

Look at them.

Come back into the room.

Come back into your body.

Come back to Earth.

The Hard Work Is Beginning to Bear Fruit

Amongst all this clearing, I feel something very positive too.

There is a strong sense that the work is beginning to pay off.

You may have spent the last few years doing work nobody else could see.

Healing.

Learning boundaries.

Taking responsibility for yourself.

Creating.

Beginning again.

Learning to love yourself differently.

Changing the way you treat your body.

Walking away from situations you once thought you couldn't survive without.

Following an idea even when nobody else understood it.

There may have been moments when you wondered whether any of it was actually getting you anywhere.

I feel this next cycle is going to show us why that work mattered.

Not because the universe suddenly hands us a prize for suffering.

But because personal growth changes what we are capable of receiving, recognising and sustaining.

An opportunity that would once have frightened you may now excite you.

A relationship you once would have chased may no longer interest you.

A boundary you once couldn't hold may now feel natural.

A dream you once thought impossible may suddenly look achievable.

That is growth.

And sometimes we don't recognise it until life gives us the opportunity to respond differently.

Brigid Between the Flame and the Well

And through everything I have been feeling around this eclipse, I keep returning to Goddess Brigid.

Brigid of the sacred flame.

Brigid of the holy wells.

Fire and water.

Two elements that appear to be opposites, yet sit beautifully together within her traditions.

For me, they offer the perfect symbolism for this moment.

Water releases.

Fire transforms.

Water carries away.

Fire illuminates.

Water asks us to surrender.

Fire asks us to create.

Perhaps we need both.

Perhaps this isn't simply a period of cleansing.

Perhaps it is the moment between cleansing and creation.

And that changes everything.

Brigantia: Reclaiming Sovereignty

I also feel another face of Brigid close to this energy — Brigantia, the great goddess whose name is associated with the ancient Brigantes of Britain.

Where Brigid's well calls me towards surrender, Brigantia carries a different message.

Rise.

Reclaim yourself.

Remember your strength.

There are times when healing requires softness.

And there are times when healing requires us to decide that we are no longer willing to abandon ourselves.

The two aren't contradictory.

Perhaps that is another form of inner union.

Knowing when to surrender to the water.

And knowing when to tend the fire.

A Simple Brigid Eclipse Ritual

If you feel drawn to mark this eclipse, you don't need an elaborate ceremony.

Place a bowl of clean water somewhere safe.

Beside it, light a candle.

Sit quietly between the symbolism of Brigid's sacred well and her eternal flame.

Take a few slow breaths.

Then ask:

What am I ready to allow the water to carry away?

Don't force the answer.

When something comes, acknowledge it.

Then turn your attention towards the flame and ask:

What am I ready to awaken within myself now?

Sit with whatever arrives.

You may want to write afterwards.

You may want to pray.

You may simply want to sit in silence.

The ritual isn't about making something happen.

It is about creating enough stillness to hear yourself.

What Comes After the Eclipse?

Perhaps that is the most beautiful question.

Not:

What am I losing?

But:

What am I making room for?

If you resonate with the 144 collective, twin flames, starseed teachings, ancient memories or ascension, perhaps this is a moment to consider what those ideas ultimately ask of you here on Earth.

More love?

More compassion?

More courage?

More creativity?

More responsibility for your own healing?

More willingness to live authentically?

Because whatever our spiritual beliefs, transformation becomes meaningful when we actually live it.

And perhaps that's where Brigid meets the 144.

Not somewhere far away in another dimension.

Here.

At the well.

Beside the flame.

In the ocean.

With the animals.

Inside the work you are creating.

Inside the body you are learning to care for.

Inside the life you are building.

The Message I Feel for You

If you've found this article at exactly the moment you needed it, I want to leave you with this.

You don't have to understand everything that's happening yet.

You don't have to know precisely where you're going.

And you don't have to drag every piece of your old life into your new one simply because it once belonged to you.

Something may be completing.

Something may be revealing itself.

Something may be asking to be released.

Let it.

Then look at the space that remains.

Because perhaps it isn't empty at all.

Perhaps it is potential.

Go to the water if it calls you.

Spend time in nature.

Listen to your dreams.

Love your animals.

Look after your body.

Keep doing the inner work.

And when everything feels uncertain, imagine Brigid's little flame burning in the darkness.

It doesn't need to illuminate the whole road.

It only needs to show you the next step.

Keep going.

Your new cycle may already have begun.
