Elowen – Brigid’s Keeper of Peace

Elowen is a one-of-a-kind handcrafted Guardian of Brigid, created as a symbol of peace, healing, protection and quiet strength.

Dressed in deep woodland greens with long, flowing auburn hair, Elowen carries the feeling of the forest around her. Ivy leaves are woven amongst her hair, while a four-leaf clover rests at her brow — a small symbol of blessing, hope and good fortune.

She sits peacefully holding her crystal-filled altar candle, surrounded by the sacred symbols that connect every House of Bridie Guardian to Brigid’s Flame, her healing waters and the living earth.

Elowen is one of Brigid’s Keepers — an imagined guardian created to bring the symbolism of the Goddess into a personal altar or sacred space.

Each tiny detail has been formed and assembled by hand, making Elowen completely individual. There will never be another quite like her.

The Keeper of Peace

Elowen represents the quieter face of Brigid’s strength.

Brigid is remembered through fire — the spark of inspiration, creativity and transformation — but she is also deeply associated with healing, sacred wells, hospitality and protection.

Elowen brings those qualities together.

Her peaceful seated form represents stillness.

Her green colouring connects her with the living earth.

The ivy woven through her long hair represents endurance, renewal and the ability to continue growing through changing seasons.

And the little four-leaf clover resting against her brow carries a simple blessing of hope and good fortune.

She was created as a Guardian for those moments when what we need most is not more noise or movement, but somewhere quiet to return to ourselves.

The Pilgrimage Story

Elowen’s altar set carries elements inspired by our own pilgrimages in honour of Brigid.

Her Rose Goddess Altar Essence contains sacred waters personally collected from Brigid’s Wells in Kildare, Ireland, together with water from the White Spring and Chalice Well in Glastonbury.

Her taper candle represents Brigid’s Eternal Flame, inspired by the perpetual flame tended by the Brigidine Sisters at Solas Bhríde in Kildare. During our pilgrimage, we carried the flame home with us to Guernsey, where it became part of the story and inspiration behind House of Bridie.

Through sacred water, flame and earth, Elowen carries a little piece of that pilgrimage story into her new home.

Brigid’s Eternal Flame

Alongside Elowen is a taper representing Brigid’s Eternal Flame.

Its flame carries a very special story.

Our House flame was originally kindled from the perpetual flame tended by the Brigidine Sisters at Solas Bhríde in Kildare, Ireland, during our own pilgrimage to Brigid’s sacred landscape.

That flame was carried home to Guernsey and continues to form part of the story behind House of Bridie.

Your taper is intended as a symbolic connection with that tradition — a small flame to light during prayer, reflection, creativity or your own personal ritual.

How to use

Place Elowen on your altar, meditation space or somewhere in your home where you would like to create a sense of peace and sanctuary.

Her Eternal Flame taper can be lit during prayer, meditation, journaling or quiet reflection, while the Rose Goddess Altar Essence may be placed upon your altar or used as part of your personal ritual practice.

The small crystal candle held by Elowen can also be used as part of your ritual. Always remove the candle completely from the figurine before lighting it and place it on a suitable heat-resistant surface.

Or simply keep Elowen exactly as she is — a handcrafted guardian and symbolic reminder of Brigid’s healing, protective and peaceful presence.

Rose water, sacred waters personally collected from Brigid’s Wells in Kildare, the White Spring and Chalice Well in Glastonbury, clear quartz and amethyst crystal chips, cosmetic pink mica and preservative.

Crystal Vial:

A hand-selected mixture of crystal chips presented in a corked glass vial.

Eternal Flame Taper:

Care & safety

Elowen is a handcrafted decorative altar piece and should be handled with care.

Always remove the glass candle from the figurine before lighting. Never burn a candle while it is being held by, touching or positioned directly beside the polymer clay figurine, hair, leaves, crystals, charms or other decorative materials.

Place candles upright on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from draughts and flammable materials. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep candles, crystals and small decorative components away from children and pets.

Crystals and decorative pieces should be kept clear of the candle wick and flame.

The Rose Goddess Altar Essence is for altar and ritual use only. Do not ingest or apply to the skin. Keep away from children and pets.
